
Dara Schindelka
The voice of an angel
and the power of a freight train

Dara is a celebrated Saskatchewan artist. She has been nominated for Keyboardist of the Year by the Saskatchewan Country Music Association and twice nominated at the SaskArts Celebration of the Arts as a singer.
She is also a recipient of the SOCAN Emerging Artist Fund, a SaskArts Independent Artist Grant, and Creative Saskatchewan funding for the creation of her second album.
Dara has travelled across Canada, touring and sharing her songs and stories. Her latest project, She Imagined, is a collection of traditional folk songs that share the stories of women from hundreds of years ago with ties to our present culture. Her genre-bending style includes folk, classical, jazz, and most recently, techno-electronic.
When not working on her solo projects, Dara enjoys singing backup for other artists and is a member of the funk/groove bands BackSeat Driver, Northern Air, and Range Road Girls.
Outside of performing and recording, Dara teaches music lessons at the University of Regina Conservatory in southern Saskatchewan, Canada.
